What is a fundraiser

Hi,
I know what a fund raiser is but I don't understand how that works with direct sales. Can someone please explain?

There are two types of fundraising:
-1. You get a group or an organization(cheerleaders, boy scouts,little league baseball) to sell your product-candles,SSS by Avon,Usbourne books, etc...They take the orders, collect the money and write you a check minus their cut. You order the products and send in the money minus your cut. Then deliver the products to the fundraising organization w/your labels on everything for reordering purposes.
-2.You-yourself sell your own products for 2 wks.1 month,etc and donate a portion of your sells to an group or organization, like The MS Society or The Cancer Society, Special Olympics-just to name a few.

Fundraising with Home & Garden Party is similiar to the way described.However, with HGP there are No upfront costs for the group or organization.The Fundraiser Coordinator simply hands out the brochures(which are provided by the Consultant or designer of the Company.) The group simply collects orders & payment at the time the orders are taken,the FR Coord. then takes the orders & payment owed for the Fundraiser items & submits the orders to the Direct sales company- Minus the Designer or Consultants commision. The Fundraiser usually arrives 2-3 weeks after being submitted. It's really easy & simple.

No upfront cost w/us either, thankfully! But now that I think about it there aren't many companies w/upfront cost.

I have also set up at events and another means of fundraising was for every party that was booked at their event that day when the party was completed they recieved 10% of the sales.

Or you can have the organization pass out books and for two weeks everyone that calls and place an order with the code you put on the front of the label for such and so organization to benefit from they get a percentage of the sales. Each participant gives 10 books to people they know to call you with orders.

I was wondering if anyone had any letters that they send out to local charities to advertise your service with fundraisers.

I am a Signature HomeStyles consultant. Signature Homestyles matches my donation to the charity up to 5% so I really want to get a letter out to people looking to raise money. I have tried writing a letter but I am not happy with one yet.
