Caramel Candy Bars
1 (14 oz. ) package of caramels
1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 c. soft butter
1 (6 ounce) pkg. milk chocolate morsels (chips)
1 c. nuts (optional)
Grease a 9x13" pan. Heat caramels with milk..you can do this in a microwave. Set aside. Mix flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and egg in a large bowl. Stir in melted butter until crumbled and press half the dough into a pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over top and then drizzle caramel mixture over top of that. Sprinkle remaining dough over top and bake 22-25 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool completely before cutting.
