I am trying to reduce carbs and walking to loose weight for the first time

In my research it appears that I can not eat most things I really love but I do like soup (but am I stuck with out crackers?) and could probably eat it daily with a salad. I know I can eat boneless chicken breast; can anyone help with other items I can eat that would help me be successful as I give up all my breads. Also is pasta really that bad? If you know any good meal plans please share. I do not eat seafood.
